We believe everyone
deserves their person.

FindUrLove was born from a simple frustration: dating apps that feel like games. We built the opposite.

Our story

FindUrLove started in 2019 in a tiny San Francisco apartment, when our founders — two engineers tired of endless swiping — asked a simple question: what if a dating app optimized for relationships instead of screen time?

So we made choices most apps won't. Every profile is verified by a human-reviewed process. Messaging is deliberate, not infinite. Our matching looks at what you actually do — not just what you say you want. And when members find their person and leave the app, we count it as a win, not a lost customer.

Today we're a team of 85 across San Francisco, Austin and Lisbon — designers, engineers, trust & safety specialists and one very good office dog named Cupid.

From the blog

We looked at 1.2 million opening messages (anonymized and aggregated, of course) and the results surprised even us. “Hey” gets a reply 4% of the time. A question about something specific in the other person's bio? 61%.

The winning formula is simpler than you think: notice something real, ask something open. “You climb? What's the scariest wall you've been on?” beats every pickup line ever written.

One more finding: messages sent between 7pm and 9pm get answered twice as fast. Timing isn't everything — but it helps.

Nobody loves taking a verification selfie. But here's what it buys the whole community: catfishing reports on FindUrLove are 12× lower than the industry average.

Our system compares your live selfie to your profile photos, and a human reviews the edge cases. IDs are checked once, then deleted — we keep the badge, not the document.

In our latest member survey, 94% said verification was a reason they trust matches here more than on other apps. Worth the selfie.

Sofia almost didn't reply. Liam's opener — a question about the espresso machine visible in her third photo — sat unanswered for three days. “I was about to delete the app,” she laughs.

Fourteen months later they signed the papers on a small house outside Denver, espresso machine on the counter. “The difference here is that people talk like humans,” says Liam. “It never felt like a game.”
